Starting school is an exciting time for us all here at nursery and for you and your children.
Under normal circumstances, we talk to new teachers about each child's needs and interests and we invite them to visit us. This gives them a chance to get to know the children and reduce anxiety about moving on.
This year has of course been different. We have not been able to meet the new teachers in person. Instead we have had to phone them and email transition records.
As we move towards the end of term we have been thinking about how we can say goodbye to the children. We feel sad that we will not be able to do this is the usual way and that we cannot share the excitement of starting school together.
However, over the next couple of weeks we will be paying individual visits to all of the children moving on to school, to say goodbye. This will be a short doorstep visit (in line with government guidance and local authority risk assessments). If we miss you we will pop a special card through your door. We hope to see as many of you as possible!
